The IS200EXAMG1A is a component for the Mark VI series.This series is part of the Speedtronic line from GE for the management of gas and steam turbine systems. The Mark VI is built with a primary Control Module that provides most control and protection processes. The Mark VI control system comes in both Simplex and Triple Redundant form. This allows for proper scaling for use on single module systems to systems with many distributed modules.
The IS200EXAMG1A functions as an Exciter Attenuator Module. This module mounts in the auxiliary cabinet. The IS200EXAMG1A and an EGDM work in conjunction to protect the generator shaft from magnetic and thermal imbalances caused by unwanted ground paths from exciter components.To detect this current flow, voltage flowing across a sensing resistor is picked up by the IS200EXAMG1A module and then measured by the EGDM module.
