Description

ESB bus (Extended Serial Backboard bus) is a communication bus available for dualredundancy connecting ESB bus node units and FCU. ER bus (Enhanced Remote bus) is a high-speed communication bus available for dual-redundancy connecting ESB bus node units and ER bus node units (*1). Using ER bus, node units can be located away from FCU cabinet as well as in the cabinet. This availability for ER bus node units serves for the cases such as locating node units close to field devices, limiting power supply capacity for safety, or locating node units separately due to space issues. For ER bus, use Ethernet-compatible coaxial cable. Using optical cables or general-purpose optical repeaters, transmission distance can be extended. Furthermore, node units can be located separately in wide area via wireless network or public network.
