Making Code Changes

PLC code must be written to read the inputs and write the outputs of the newly added I/O. This is done through S5 in the same manner as with S5 I/O. As with any system that has newly added HW and SW, testing of the modified system should be planned as part of the implementation. There probably are address changes of the old I/O when converted to S7 because of additional drops etc. The S5 software includes a software feature that allows “Rewire” of the address. Make use of this feature either on a single step or the entire revised I/O map. For ease of locating the I/O physically the I/O may be mapped using a different group for eachlocation. I.e. byte address’s 10 through 19 for drop 4, 20 through 29 for drop 5, etc.
