Description

This parameter specifies the polling address of the unit, which is used in identifying the unit to another HART device. The address can be set to any value from 00 to 15. However, this parameter should always be set to 00 unless the unit is being operated in a multi-drop environment (more than one HART device present on the same current loop). If the parameter is set to any nonzero value (specifying multi-drop operation), the analog (milliampere) output of the device is constantly locked at 4.0 mA. Thus, the analog output no longer reflects process conditions or responds to Diagnostics, Alarms, or Presets. The default value is 00. Number of Request Preambles This parameter indicates the number of preamble characters that the transmitter sends at the start of each HART response message. Depending on the characteristics of the communication link, changing this parameter could disrupt communications. For this reason, this parameter is not configurable with the HART Communicator.The structural diagram of the Alarms menu is located on Figure 19 on page 68.
