Introduction
The ControlLogix® Architecture provides a wide range of input and output modules to span many applications, from high-speed digital to process control. The ControlLogix architecture uses Producer/Consumer technology, which allows input information and output status to be shared among multiple ControlLogix controllers There are Two (2) ways to assign IP address to the controller. First, using a BOOTP-DHCP utility of Allen-Bradley. This tools searches for the unique IP address of the device and assigns it with the specified IP address. Second, by using the USB terminal by initially downloading controller IP address via RSLinx communication software. The USB terminal may also be used to modify the supplied firmware. This is done using the ControlFlash utility that is used to downgrade or upgrade the controller’s internal firmware files. Firmware defines the processor’s operation.
